Privacy Policy
IBF Backgammon Tournaments app. Effective date: 4 October 2026.
This policy explains how INTERACTIVE E-SOLUTIONS S.R.L. (“we”, “us”) processes personal data when you use the IBF Backgammon Tournaments mobile app for iOS and Android, its web version, and the website ibf-app.com (together, the “Service”). We process personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679, “GDPR”) and applicable Romanian law.
1. Who we are
The data controller for the Service is:

We develop and publish the IBF app as the official app of the International Backgammon Federation (“IBF”). The IBF's own website, membership and events outside the app are governed by the IBF Personal Data Processing Policy.
2. Data we process
2.1 Data you give us
- Account data: e-mail address, nickname / display name, password (stored only in hashed form) and your user ID.
- Profile photo (optional): an avatar image you choose from your photo library or take with the camera.
- Club and tournament activity: applications to join clubs, club memberships, tournament registrations.
- Support messages: the content of e-mails you send us and your contact details.
2.2 Data generated when you play
- Game data: matches played, moves, dice rolls, scores, results, tournament placings, ratings and in-game virtual coin balance.
- Technical data: IP address, device model, operating system and version, app version, language and time zone, connection and server logs.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and error logs, including the state of the app at the moment of the error.
- Usage and analytics data: screens viewed, in-app events, session length, and pseudonymous app-instance identifiers.
- Attribution data: information about how you found and installed the app (for example, the campaign or link that led to the install).
- Push token: an identifier issued by Apple or Google that lets us send notifications, if you allow them.
- Advertising identifier: on Android, the Google advertising ID, which you can reset or delete in the device settings. On iOS, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is accessed only if you allow tracking in the system prompt.
2.3 This website
ibf-app.com has no forms and no advertising trackers. We use Yandex Metrica, a web analytics service of YANDEX LLC, to understand how visitors use the website: which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, which buttons and links they click (for example the store and download buttons) and how they scroll and move around the page, including session replays (Webvisor) and click maps. Yandex Metrica receives your IP address, browser and device details, screen size, referring page and pseudonymous identifiers, and stores cookies (such as _ym_uid, _ym_d, _ym_isad and _ym_visorc) in your browser. Session replays do not record what you type into fields — and the website has none. Yandex Metrica is loaded only if you click “Accept” in the cookie banner; until then, or if you click “Decline”, no analytics cookies are set and no data is sent to Yandex. We use this data in aggregate to improve the website, on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page; the website then deletes the Yandex Metrica cookies it can access. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or install the Yandex Metrica opt-out add-on; see also Yandex’s privacy policy.
Your cookie choice and, if you switch the website language, your language (“en” or “ru”) are saved in your browser’s local storage so the website remembers them next time; they stay on your device and are never sent to us. Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser user agent) for security and operation of the website.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects for you.
3. Purposes and legal bases

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time (see section 8). Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, for example by disabling notifications or tracking in your device settings.
4. What other players see
To make tournaments work, some information is visible to other users of the Service: your nickname, profile photo, user ID, club memberships, tournament participation, match results, placings and ratings. Club and tournament organisers can see the applications you send them and the results of matches in their events. Please do not use your full real name or a photo of yourself as your nickname or avatar if you do not want them to be visible to others.
5. Service providers
We share personal data only with providers that help us run the Service, under data processing agreements and only to the extent needed:

We may also share data with the International Backgammon Federation and with the clubs running a tournament when it is needed to organise the competition, resolve disputes or confirm results, and with public authorities when the law requires it.
6. International transfers
Our servers and those of our service providers may be located outside the European Economic Area (EEA). When personal data is transferred to a country that the European Commission has not recognised as providing an adequate level of protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards under Chapter V of the GDPR, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with additional measures where needed. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards at support@i-bg-federation.com.
7. How long we keep data
- Account and profile data — for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days.
- Match and tournament results — kept in anonymised form after account deletion so that brackets, standings and the results of other players remain correct.
- Server logs and diagnostics — up to 90 days, unless needed longer to investigate a specific security incident.
- Support correspondence — up to 2 years after the request is closed.
- Data we must keep by law — for the period the law requires.
How to delete your account: see Delete your account.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted (“right to be forgotten”);
- restrict processing of your data;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise your rights, e-mail support@i-bg-federation.com from the address linked to your account, or include your user ID. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on a request.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU country where you live or work. In Romania this is the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), www.dataprotection.ro.
9. Device permissions
- Notifications — to send you push notifications. Optional.
- Photos / camera — only when you choose to set a profile photo. We upload just the image you select; we do not access the rest of your library. Optional.
- Tracking (iOS) — only if the app asks and you allow it; used for install attribution. Optional.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings. The app does not collect your precise location.
10. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including encrypted connections (TLS) between the app and our servers, hashed passwords, access control and logging of administrative access. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of a personal data breach where the law requires it.
12. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the Service or the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by e-mail.
